 Vladivostok is among the ten most up and coming cities of the world, as determined by the special UNESCO Commission. Of all the European-style cities it is the closest to the Asian Pacific region. The city is located on a range of hills, which on one side borders the Pacific Ocean and the other forests. The beautiful and varied landscape in and around the city provides many opportunities for interesting sightseeing.
