AMBergh, St Petersburg State University and specialised language schools offer Russian language programmes to international students in a truly international environment. When studying here you will share the university facilities with a wide range of students both from Russia and all over the world. The programmes that you can choose to enrol in are of different lengths and intensities and are designed to meet the needs of students with a range of different language skills as well as for those different professional needs. Despite all the possibilities for diversity in the courses they are still all grounded in standard programmes thereby guaranteeing the quality of the various courses on offer.

You will be taught by highly qualified and friendly staff and will have access to modern language learning equipment such as special audio and video teaching materials. All this provides you with the perfect environment to improve your language skills considerably.

Group courses
If you choose to study in a group then you will be in a class with a maximum of 12 students. On arrival you will be asked to participate in a short, informal test before being placed in a class at the appropriate level. The beginners' course is designed for those who want to acquire basic skills in speaking, reading, understanding and writing, with special emphasis on spoken Russian. It includes elementary Russian grammar, conversational classes based on everyday topics and core vocabulary. At higher levels the courses are designed for foreigners who wish to improve their existing Russian language skills. In these classes you will have the opportunity to improve your speaking, reading, understanding and writing skills while a special emphasis is placed on improving your grammar.

Individual courses
If you choose to take an individual course then the program can be tailored to meet your specific needs. You have the opportunity to influence the pace and content of your learning experience.

When you have satisfactorily completed a program, then you will receive a certificate of attendance.
