The main building of the Moscow State University and its university campus is situated just outside the city centre about 25 minutes from Red Square by public transport, and a further ten minutes walking distance from the metro station "Universitet". Within the huge campus area students have access to all facilities they might need - student dormitories, class rooms, libraries, clinics, sports halls, cafés and restaurants, a cinema and also a theatre.
The catering services of the university include 11 canteens and 16 buffets and snack-shops. In every university building you can find tasty and cheap food. The university's medical clinic is located on campus. Students can use the full range of medical services on offer here including, for example: physicians, neurologists and dentists. The Student Theatre of the university is the oldest in Russia. The first public performance took place on 26th January 1756 staged by the students themselves. Many famous actors of Russia have developed their talents here. The Student Theatre stages plays of Russian and foreign authors. Teachers and students use the Recreation Centre in their spare time. Musical, theatrical, literary and other activities are held here. Every evening, a different movie is presented in the big cinema hall in the main building of the university. There are many different sport facilities including a swimming pool, sport halls etc. on campus that you as a student of the university have access to.
