The University lies in the heart of the city on Prospect Lenina. The University offers many facilities for you to take advantage of during your period of studies including a library, language labs, internet access and video facilities.

On campus you can find cafeterias and canteens, a health centre, fitness centre, social clubs, theatre groups and a student choir. There are many activities that you are welcome to get involved in if you want. Taking part will of course help you to get acquainted with Russian history, culture, traditions and social life.

City tours of Petrozavodsk and excursions to smaller Karelian towns, such as Sortavala, Sheltozero and Kondopoga can be organized on request. We definitely recommend that all students take the opportunity to see the open air museum of wooden architecture on Kizhi Island situated on Lake Onega. Two or three-day trips to Moscow and St Petersburg are also both interesting and exciting.

It is up to you whether you want to participate in the activities or not. The costs of these activities are not included in the tuition fee.
