The university is centrally located and within walking distance of the city centre.

The university offers a personal service to all students. There are for example several computer suites with free internet. The university has its own gym and is fitted with modern equipment including treadmills, bikes, boxing equipment, up to date weight machines and a full range of free weights. There are qualified instructors on hand to provide you with an individual fitness programme or you can train on your own after you have had a full induction. When the gym is not in use for scheduled sessions students can use it for playing basketball or volleyball.

Irkutsk is a student city with over thirty centres of higher education and professional training institutes. The average age of inhabitants in the city is relatively low and there is a large range of pubs and night clubs on offer in the city for those wanting to take advantage of the vibrant night life.
