Latvia

Latvia is situated in the North of Europe with easy access from the whole of Europe and the rest of the world. Since 2004 Latvia has been a member of the EU and has signed the Schengen agreement. Citizens of more than 60 countries including all the EU and US citizens do not require a visa to come for a course and, while staying here, you can easily visit St. Petersburg, Stockholm, Helsinki, Tallinn, and Vilnius during for the weekend.

Almost half of the Latvian population are native Russian speakers and most of the population speaks Russian fluently. Latvian is the official language and the Russian language is the second most widely spoken language in the country, which means that you can still find excellent opportunities to practice your Russian. Riga is Latvia's political, cultural and economic centre enjoying an international atmosphere.
