Getting a Russian visa

Visa for Russia
All foreign nationals are required to have entry visas to travel to the Russian Federation. Russian entry visas can be obtained at your local Russian Embassy or Consulate. Proper authorization (invitation letter) from the Passport and Visa Department (UVIR) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs or specially authorized travel agencies is required. Your passport shall be valid at least 6 months after the period of your visa for Russia.

Registration of your visa
You need to register your visa within three working days after your arrival to Russia. If you have ordered your visa invitation through AMBergh when you registered for the course, the invitation is guaranteed to be issued by UVIR (through the university or language school), and our partners will help you register your visa upon arrival.

Word of advice
While there are many respected travel organizations ready to help you obtain visa support or process your Russian/CIS visas, we recommend you let us arrange your visa invitation. Some universities and language schools don't accept an invitation issued by a travel organization, and won't help you register your visa upon arrival in Russia unless they have helped issue it.

Visa for Ukraine
Since January 1, 2008 no visas are required for citizens of Andorra, Canada, the EU countries, Holy See, Iceland, Japan, Liechtenstein, Monaco, Norway, the Republic of Korea, San Marino, Switzerland and the United States who may stay in Ukraine up to 90 days within a period of 180 days. If the total period of your stay in Ukraine exceeds 90 days within half a year then an entry visa to Ukraine is required. If you are planning to stay longer than 90 days or are from other countries than the above mentioned we will help you organize your visa.
